Pre-Wedding – Joanne
Posted in Pre-Weddings on March 23rd, 2011 by Jovie
Words can hardly describe the extremely adorable, cute, and bubbly Joanne. Her fun-loving personality is so contagious that, being her makeup artist was such a joyful and happy task. And I am glad to do the job not once but twice; once for her pre-wedding and second time for her wedding actual day.
For her pre-wedding first look in white gown, Joanne chose very natural look and kept her hair bangs puffy. This created a lovely and romantic look to match the greenery in the morning. Later, for the second look, I gave her a heavier eyeshadow to match her bright yellow gown. Completed the hair with a side ponytail half updo and a fascinator.
Photography by Gene and Oli from PhotosByMarbles. I am overjoyed that they used one of the pictures from this shoot for their double-page advertisement in the latest Style Weddings magazine (Issue Seventeen, March-Aug 2011).
Last but not least, I am extremely grateful to Joanne who took the time to select and sent these amazing pictures to me. More pictures from her wedding day in the next post!

Wedding – Agnes

One of the great joys of doing bridal makeup is that you get to work on the happiest day of a person’s life.
Like many of the brides who came to me, Agnes wanted to have minimal and natural makeup with a classic messy bun. The result is an elegant, glowing and radiantly happy bride.
More of her wedding day pictures here.

Wedding – Ly Tan

It’s been a real pleasure for me to be the makeup artist for Ly Tan on her wedding day. I did a natural and clean makeup for her, and topped it up with a small tiara to match her fringe and create a princess-like look.

Wedding – Evelyn

Two months ago, I received a phone call from Evelyn from Australia for my makeup service on her wedding day in Singapore. Everything went smoothly and we met up for a trial session one week before the actual event. I was then struck by Evelyn’s joyful personality and we hit off well immediately.

For the day makeup, Evelyn had requested a look that is natural, healthy and alluring, complementing the environment of the ceremony which took place at Bollywood Veggies. Instead of a veil, Evelyn chose to don a fascinator with netting across the face.
For the evening reception, Evelyn picked a sexy, glamourous and womanly look.

Congratulations Adam and Evelyn!

An exploration into contrasting styles – high key vs low key, minimalism vs classic and innocence vs confidence. Special thanks to the very photogenic Yuan Yuan to be our model.

Makeup and Photo Shooting Session – Shermin
Posted in Fashion on March 9th, 2009 by Jovie
Over the weekend, my friend Shermin came over to be my makeup model.
The first makeup emphasizes glamor with a pair of big eyelashes. The makeup is more suitable for attending evening dinner or party.

The second makeup leans towards a more natural look with light blue eyeshadow. The overall makeup is clean and light, as it brings out the youthful and sweetness of ladies. Together with the hairdo, this is a perfect makeup for daytime outing or dating.
